Jorōgumo
Descrição
The ancestral enemies of any who call themselves kitsune, jorōgumo are shapeshifting spider spirits capable of adopting human form. In addition to webs made from fibers as strong as iron, jorōgumo can weave complex sensory illusions with their silk that are utterly convincing to the unwary. While they are not evil beings (and some may even become benevolent guardians of villages or shrines), they are extremely vengeful and cruel. Posing as silk weavers, shrine keepers, or lost travelers, they become close with their enemies, taking their time to weave a complex trap of illusions before striking with their poisonous webs.
