Descrição
Named for the alternating patterns of light and dark bands inherent in the metal, which is said to resemble ripples in a watery surface, watered steel is a unique type of metal forged in the lands beyond the Sand Road. Watered steel is made primarily in the Caliphate via a secretive process that is protected by order of the caliph. Attempts to reproduce the steel have failed, leading many blacksmiths to believe there is more to this craft than mere pattern welding. Watered steel is prized in weaponry for its superior ability to hold an edge, its extreme tensile strength and flexibility, and its resistance to the elements.
An item made primarily of watered steel gains the Durable and Resplendent item qualities; if it is a weapon that already has the Durable item quality, it instead gains +1 deadliness. Additionally, Razor-Edged weapons made of watered steel gain the Hewing item quality (see page 116).
Armor cannot be made from watered steel.
