Curse Disadvantages

Seção Otherworldly EncountersQuadro Quadro

Texto

A character who is cursed receives a disadvantage with the curse type. This includes any and all disadvantages with “curse” in their name. This disadvantage applies in circumstances related to the spirit’s sphere of influence, and it is created using the rules for creating a custom disadvantage (see page 137 of the core rulebook). Examples of disadvantages with the curse disadvantage type can be found in Specific Disadvantages, starting on page 116 of the core rulebook. Other curses include curses of misfortune in a particular activity, such as long-distance travel or games of chance.

The GM can determine if the disadvantage with the curse type is permanent or has a duration before it fades. Most curses with a duration should last for at least two weeks of gameworld time. If a curse is permanent, a PC might be able to try to make amends with the spirit to have it removed narratively, or they might complete the Invoke for Aid social objective (see page 127) on a more powerful spirit of the same affiliation or type to remove it.
