Scorpion Honor
Texto
The Scorpion Clan is particularly illustrative of
the perceived objectivity of honor: its members do not debate the definitions
of honor or attempt to rationalize their actions
as honorable through twisted logic, but they also do not believe that honor is worthless. They
accept that members of
Bayushi’s clan cannot
behave according to Bushidō precepts, but they
do not actually disagree with what these precepts
are or even that they are valuable. Honor is for oth-
er samurai, and they can be honorable only because
the Scorpion are willing to do the dirty work that
a society demands.
