Several of the new schools presented here are exceptions to the general guideline that a character must select a school from within their clan. The Fortunist
Monk and Shinseist Monk schools represent broad approaches to the monastic life for samurai who have renounced their clan loyalties. A Kolat Saboteur may come from any family, and likely maintains a cover identity based on a legitimate school. Kitsune who dwell in human society mimic the traits of the family they join, so they choose a clan and family normally.
