The Ancestral Sword of the Fox Clan

Descrição

As a part of the treaty that ended the Lion-Phoenix War and created the Fox Clan, the Emperor commissioned the forging of a grand sword to be presented to the Fox Clan Champion. Agasha family blacksmiths forged a splendid blade, and after consultations with the daimyō of the Yogo family, the sword was inscribed with spiritual wards. Shortly after accepting the gift, the Fox Clan Champion disregarded it, setting it aside to languish—to him, the sword was simply a reminder of all the Fox had lost at the hands of the Great Clans, an attempt to placate the guilty consciences of those who had failed his people. Nearly three centuries later, a Fox samurai accidentally discovered that the blade had been replaced with a forgery. Yet few seemed to care; many assumed the forest denizens had taken it, and no one could even recall the sword’s name. The ancestral sword of the Fox Clan has remained lost ever since—or at least, no one has yet admitted to finding it.

The name of the ancestral sword of the Fox Clan is long forgotten. It is a tachi (see Celestial Realms, page 98) of exquisite quality.
