Descrição
Although the Imperial families—the Otomo, the Miya, and the Seppun—are directly tasked with much of the mediation between clans needed to keep the Emerald Empire from fracturing into warring states, they sometimes bring outsiders into their ranks to serve as Imperial peacekeepers. This offers many advantages: members of the Great Clans are sometimes not as enmeshed in the internal politics of the Imperial Court, and they have regional expertise that may be key to negotiations. Members of Minor Clans are in some ways even better suited to the role, as they often have no stake at all in regional conflicts far from their own homes. Imperial peacekeepers serve on specific assignments for members of the Imperial families when needed, returning to their other duties when there is no crisis for them to mediate.
