This time when the girl approached the tree, she saw a whole murder of crows, eerily silent. They had left a ring, one lost by the village elder years ago.

Sometime in the past, you assisted an animal in some way or saved its life. Now, any animal of that type you encounter gives you a little extra consideration, sparing you from its hunt or even helping you in return.
After performing a check when interacting with this specific type of animal (such as a Survival [Void] check to find food in wolf territory, if you have an affinity with wolves, or a Tactics [Void] check to cede territory to the enemy only to let the wolves overtake them), you may reroll up to two dice.
